An Approach to a Sustainable Future: Recycling Wastewater Scheme
Dematec Automation is privileged to be the control and communications integrator in the transformational Wamuran Irrigation Scheme. This scheme recycles water from the Caboolture South Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and supplies it to farms assuring a long-term security for farmers to grow crops. It also attempts to protect the environment for coming generations by lowering the amount of nutrients released into the waterways.
Initially, the wastewater from the Caboolture South STP is treated in a disinfection facility which is then transferred to the Moodlu Quarry and finally set to reach the farmers’ destination through the pipeline. The construction phase is finished, and we are eager to see this scheme ramp up to full-scale operation.
This remarkable initiative ensures a secure climate-independent water supply for farmers regardless of rainfall and drought in days to come. With access to high-quality water for irrigation, farmers can cultivate crops year-round without experiencing stress. This boosts the confidence of the entire agricultural community and enhances their livelihood.
Wamuran’s advantageous geographical position allows the area to export its crops to Southeast Asia, creating new job possibilities and boosting the region’s economy. In addition to this, we cannot forget the contribution this project has made to the environment by improving the health of waterways.
Our team believes this to be one of the special projects we have been involved in and we would like to express our gratitude to the project stakeholders for taking this wastewater recycling scheme from concept into execution.
